Kidzink to Host Floating Eco-Hub Workshop at the 29er European Championships

Kidzink Launches Floating Eco-Hub Workshop for Youth Sailors

From July 3rd to 5th, Kidzink is bringing a bold, hands-on experience to the 29er European Championships with the launch of the Floating Eco-Hub Workshop — a dynamic, team-based challenge designed to spark creativity, collaboration, and sustainability among the next generation of sailors.

What’s the Floating Eco-Hub Workshop?

Get hands-on with recycled materials to design and build a floating structure with your fellow sailors. Think outside the box, bring your vision to life, and compete to impress — your creation could be featured in our exclusive mini-documentary!

Working in teams of four, participants will compete in a fast-paced challenge that emphasizes creativity, collaboration, and sustainable thinking. Each sailor may only participate once — every session is unique and counts toward major prizes.

Prizes for the Winning Team:

Full regatta fee sponsorship for the winning team

1x Jib per sailor

1x Spinnaker per sailor

(4 jibs + 4 spinnakers total)

This workshop is more than just a fun side event — it’s part of a shared mission by Kidzink and the 29er Class to encourage youth-led innovation in sailing, while spotlighting the importance of environmental responsibility.

When & Where?

Set against the backdrop of one of youth sailing’s premier international events, this workshop invites participants to design and build floating structures using recycled and eco-friendly materials. The goal: reimagine what youth spaces could look like — on the water.

Over the course of the six-day regatta, sailors will rotate through half-day workshops that challenge them to think critically, prototype rapidly, and work as a team to bring their ideas to life. All sessions will be documented as part of a short film series highlighting youth innovation in action.

What to Expect:

Workshops will run daily from 11:00 to 15:00 and are held on-site at the 29er European Championships venue. Participation is free, but spaces are limited, and pre-registration is required.
