Working in teams of four, participants will compete in a fast-paced challenge that emphasizes creativity, collaboration, and sustainable thinking. Each sailor may only participate once — every session is unique and counts toward major prizes.

1x Jib per sailor
1x Spinnaker per sailor
(4 jibs + 4 spinnakers total)
This workshop is more than just a fun side event — it’s part of a shared mission by Kidzink and the 29er Class to encourage youth-led innovation in sailing, while spotlighting the importance of environmental responsibility.
When & Where?
- On-site at the 29er European Championships
- Daily from July 3–5th at 18:00 (after sailing)
Set against the backdrop of one of youth sailing’s premier international events, this workshop invites participants to design and build floating structures using recycled and eco-friendly materials. The goal: reimagine what youth spaces could look like — on the water.
Over the course of the six-day regatta, sailors will rotate through half-day workshops that challenge them to think critically, prototype rapidly, and work as a team to bring their ideas to life. All sessions will be documented as part of a short film series highlighting youth innovation in action.
What to Expect:
- Hands-on design and build sessions using sustainable materials
- Team-based collaboration and creative challenges
- Filmed documentation of the building process
- Prizes awarded to standout designs
- A showcase of future-focused thinking from young minds in the sailing world
Workshops will run daily from 11:00 to 15:00 and are held on-site at the 29er European Championships venue. Participation is free, but spaces are limited, and pre-registration is required.
