Kidzink x 29er: A Shared Vision for the Future of Youth Development

Official sponsor of the 2025 29er European and World Championships, Kidzink brings creativity, education, and well-being to centre stage

A Shared Vision for Youth Development

The International 29er Class is proud to welcome Kidzink as the official sponsor of the 2025 29er European and World Championships. A global leader in educational design, Kidzink is known for creating innovative learning environments that prioritise creativity, well-being, and experiential learning. Their work spans continents—from designing schools to shaping international conversations about the future of education.

This partnership launches a ground-breaking initiative that brings together two communities who share a common belief: that young people should not have to choose between sport and learning, discipline and creativity, performance and purpose.

Connecting Sailing with Creativity and Learning

Set against the backdrop of the 29er European Championships in Lake Garda and the World Championships in Porto, the collaboration introduces a programme of interactive workshops, data-backed research, and visual storytelling to explore how sailing can unlock new ways of thinking, learning, and leading.

With creativity now recognised as one of the most essential cognitive skills of the future, this project is a timely response to declining creative engagement in schools. By placing creativity at the centre of the experience, the 29er Class and Kidzink are not only supporting elite youth athletes but also helping reimagine the environments in which learning takes place.

Programme Highlights

The initiative includes a keynote talk, creativity and happiness surveys, and a signature workshop titled Float Your Future, where sailors design and build small-scale floating eco-hub schools using recycled materials. The goal is to explore how creativity, movement, and well-being intersect. Winning team ideas will be shared with schools globally, and each winner’s school will be offered a design session with Kidzink to co-create a creative or well-being space.

Our mission has always been to design learning spaces that think differently,” said Charlotte Borghesi, Co-Founder and General Manager of Kidzink. “This collaboration gives us a new lens—by listening to young athletes, we can reshape educational spaces to be more inclusive of the energy, creativity, and balance they naturally embody.”

The Connection

This initiative is also deeply personal to Charlotte Borghesi. A world-class sailor in her own right, she made history in 2023 as the first woman to win the SB20 World Championship as helm. Her journey across sport, entrepreneurship, and education reflects a long-standing belief that creativity and discipline go hand-in-hand. This collaboration brings that vision to life—on the water, in the classroom, and beyond.

Looking Ahead

Research collected during the events will inform Beyond the Box, Kidzink’s upcoming publication on student voice, creativity, and the future of educational design. Social content will spotlight sailor stories and creative highlights, contributing to a broader campaign that challenges outdated norms about how and where learning happens.

The programme launches at the 29er Europeans in Lake Garda from 1–8 July 2025 and continues at the 29er World Championship in Porto this August. Creativity assessments using validated tools will also be conducted to better understand how performance sailing impacts student creativity and well-being.

Together, Kidzink and the International 29er Class are championing the development of well-rounded, resilient, and future-ready youth—on the water and beyond.
